distribution of a water
The process of supplying water at the desired pressure to the consumer is known as water distribution. Various equipment is required to supply water with desired pressure. The various tools used with plumbing for this purpose are as follows:
1. sluice valve installation.
The sluice valves are used to regulate the flow of water through the pipe lines. These should be located at points of low pressure.
2. air relief valve function.
air relief valve are provided to allow air to enter the pipeline to prevent the formation of vacuum in case of rapid flow negative pressure. This vacuum or negative pressure (known as water hammer) can hurt the pipeline at some lower point.
3. check valve application.
Check valves are used to prevent water from flowing back in the opposite direction. A check valve is also known as non-return valves or check valves. A check valve is installed on the distribution side of the pumping set to prevent back flow when the pump is turned off.
4. Pressure safety valve or pressure relief valve.
pressure safety valve or pressure relief valve is used for release the excessive pressure which may build up in a closed pipe.
5. Scour valves.
Scour valve is also known as blow off valves. The scour valve or blow off valve is used to drain off the water from the pipe after closing the supply. These type valves are provided at low points.
6. Fire hydrants.
A fire hydrant is used to drain water from a main for extinguishing fires, draining, washing, flushing sewer lines, and many other purposes. The two types of hydrants are flush hydrants and post hydrants.
7. pipe fittings accessories.
Apart from valves, various types of pipe fittings like caps, flanges, nipples, elbows, bends, unions, tees etc. are used during water distribution pipe laying.
